On Thursday 27th April members of the East Midlands and West Midlands Industrial Agents Society took part in their annual Golf Day. It was the East’s turn to host at the Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club, playing for the coveted ‘Golden Tri Cup’.

The two regions regularly work together across the wider Midlands area and the event gives members and sponsors the opportunity to catch up and get to know one another better. This year’s event was kindly sponsored and participated in by developers St Modwen Logistics and Logicor.

The two teams again proved very evenly matched in their Ryder Cup style format, with the result going down to the final two matches on the course. The West Midlands gained revenge on the East from last year, taking the trophy by 4.5 points to 2.5.

Individual prize winners were:

Nearest the Pins – Sean Bremner (CPP) & John Sambrooks (Gerald Eve) & Longest Drive – Richard James-Moore (JLL).

As well as the golf, the event includes dinner and drinks and helps to raise money for the societies chosen charities.

Tom Drake of Drake & Partners (Chairman of the East Midlands IAS) confirmed: “This event is really starting to go from strength to strength and has been fantastically supported this year, bringing together the East Midlands members which we don’t often get to do. We have leant the trophy to the West Midlands for 12 months… and look forward to trying to win it back on their turf next year. A great day had by all”.

John Sambrooks of Gerald Eve (Chairman of the West Midlands IAS) said: “We’re delighted to have won back the trophy and look forward to keeping it in the West Mids for many years to come. This event wouldn’t go ahead without the support of 2 sponsors St Modwen and Logicor and we thank then for their continued support. Roll on 2024”!!!
